Bob discovers the changing seasons, different types of weather and a huge variety of plant and animal life. 'From Tiny Acorns'
Our protagonist was initially drawn as a fisherman as part of a larger illustration for my original website 'jamesgarner.co.uk'
The poor guy's initial manifestation was somewhat forlorn!
The website was used to display my portrait and graphic design work and it marked my first in-depth use of Photoshop. initially I drew five separate A3 images in pencil and scanned them to Photoshop, here I joined them together to create one seamless image and added colour!
The process was slightly laboured as I had to use a mouse but I learnt a lot about the workings of Photoshop and found it very enjoyable.
Sometime later I had the idea to do an illustrated children's book, I had the basic story in my head and the protagonist 'Bob' was sitting right in front of me, pre-made on my website! I purchased myself a Wacom drawing tablet and after one day of writing and five years of drawing, Bob was published.

This incredible magical book is amazing! The artwork is exceptional, it flows and makes a fantastic read aloud book for both my children (aged 3yrs and 7yrs old). They love Bob and his journey and haven't stopped looking at through it. I'd recommend everyone who loves great stories and beautiful children's books to buy this now!
A delightful story, beautifully illustrated, and with lots of activities for a child. My 7-year-old grandson loves it.
What a super book. The children I work with love this beautifully illustrated and educational read. The story is simple and easy to follow but has so much going on, it keeps all the children engaged over and over again. I would highly recommend it.

A beautifully illustrated book with something on every page that keeps you coming back time and time again. The story is beautifully told, poetic and dreamy and a perfect bedtime read. And to have the descriptions of the animals and insects at the back of the book is both informative and fun and keeps you going back to explore the pages again and again. Would definitely recommend - in fact I actually bought 2 copies and will be donating one to my daughter's school. (Daughter aged 7).
